Before-and-afters matter. They can absolutely get a dentist onto the shortlist.

But a premium cosmetic patient is not only asking “can this doctor change a smile?” She is asking “will this doctor know where to stop?”

That question shows up whether she is thinking about veneers, implants, a smile makeover, or a larger full-arch case.

That is why photos alone rarely close the whole trust gap. She is still looking around the edges for signs of restraint, judgment, and whether people left looking better without looking obvious.

A gallery can get her interested. It does not always get her settled.

If the practice keeps getting admired but not chosen, that is often what is going on.
